1920 First developed an interest in X-rays. Later obtained and used several of the early types of X-ray tube in his home laboratory.

1921-25 Departmental manager Electrical Supplies Co. Ltd,

1925 Moved to Foster Engineering

1935 Transferred to Associate Member of I Mech E

1939 Works Director, Foster Eng. Co., Ltd.; director of Lancashire Dynamo & Crypto Ltd., Apex Works, London, S.W.19.

1939 Became a Member of I Mech E

1950s He was the only amateur X-ray microscopist in the UK (perhaps the world)?

Helped commercialise the Cosslett-Nixon X-ray tube developed at Cambridge, first by having some made in his factory and then set up commercial production at Wardray in Oxford.

For many years he was MD of Foster Transformers Ltd

1983 Died in Clevedon[2]
