1793 The company was incorporated to construct the Grand Junction Canal, which later became the major part of the Grand Union Canal.

1894 The properties of the Grand Union Canal Co and the Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Union Canal Co were acquired. [1]

1905 Middlesex County Council placed an obligation on the Company of Proprietors of the Grand Junction Canal, the Company of Proprietors of the Regent's Canal and the North Metropolitan Railway and Canal Company to make provision for controlling and regulating the flow of water from the Brent Reservoir at Hendon[2]
