1875 Founded by William Henry Franklin (1848-1907) in Prospect Street,.

1897 Merged with Dickinson Brothers (of Bramley, Leeds) and comprised 51 shops and a factory in Wellingborough.

1904 Struck a deal with Lennards (see below), which was trading under the same name in the south of England.

1946 Renamed Benefit Footwear.

1957 Merged with Saxone Shoe Co and Lilley and Skinner

1962 Part of the British Shoe Corporation.
