1857 – Parker & Blackwell – File and steel manufacturers, Canal Works, Blast Lane, and tilters & forgers, Birley Meadows [6]
1857 Partnership dissolved. '... the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Joseph Parkin and John Blackwell, in the trade or business of Steel and File Manufacturers, and carried on at Sheffield, in the county of York, in the firm of Parkin and Blackwell, has been this day dissolved by mutual consent. Dated the 24th day of February 1857.'[7]
Jan 1860 – John Blackwell (formerly Parkin & Blackwell) put all his stock, tools and fixtures at the Canal Works up for sale by auction, under an assignment for the benefit of creditors. [8]
