1883 Royal Aquarium Electric Exhibition

1883 Messrs Goulard and Gibbs showed prototype induction machines for conversion of currents of different voltages so that loads can be changed (e.g. lamps) without disturbing the primary circuit. Another exhibit was by the Varley Electric Works showing its flexible carbons.[1]
