Monsieur Georges Augustin Albert Charpy (1865–1945) of the Compagnie des forges de Châtillon-Commentry et Neuves-Maisons.[1]

Georges Charpy refined and standardised the pendulum impact test for metal samples, now known as the Charpy impact test or the Charpy V-notch test.
