1856 Born, son of James Menzies

1881 James Menzies 50, lived in Rutherglen with Mary Menzies 50, Walter Menzies 24, iron tube maker, James Menzies 20, clerk, William Menzies 15, clerk[1]

1887 On his father's death, took on the management of the company James Menzies and Co.

1898 Left the company and entered politics

1909 Knighted

1913 Died in London
