1963 Celanese Building Components was set up by Courtaulds (60 percent interest), United Merchants (15 percent), B. Finch and Co (25 percent), to encourage greater use of plastics in the building industry. The company would access products from various Courtaulds facilities in Walthamstow, Spondon and Coventry[1]
