Alan Hughes Burgoyne

Col. Sir Alan Hughes Burgoyne was born in 1881 and was educated at Liege University and Queen's College, Oxford.
He then studied marine engineering and naval architecture under Sir William White, and later was prominently concerned with motor yachting. He was the author of many works on naval subjects.
His interest in automobile matters began with the ownership and driving of racing cars in conjunction with the late Charles Stewart Rolls subsequently he was Personal Assistant to the late Lord Montagu on the Headquarters Staff of the Indian Army.
He was for many years Member of Parliament for Kensington. He died on 27th April, 1929.
He was elected an Associate of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1919.
