1851 Partnership dissolved between Israel Swindells and Joshua Murgatroyd, carrying on business as Manufacturing Chemists at Beswick under the name of Swindells and Murgatroyd [1]

1851 Living at Grove House, Tulbury Place, Ancoats (age 43 born Manchester), a Manufacturing Chemist. With his wife Esther (age 39 born Little Lever, Bolton) and their children John Henry (age 8 born Manchester) Ellen (age 13 born Manchester), Sarah Jane (age 10 born Manchester), Elizabeth Ann (age 6 born Droylsden) and Charlotte Low (age 3 born Manchester).
