1869 Company was formed in London by Wilhelm Lund carrying passengers and cargo to Australia; return passage was northbound in ballast to China where tea was loaded for the homeward passage.
By 1874 the opening of the Suez Canal made the China route less attractive to the ships using the Cape route, and this trade was dropped in favour of direct Australia routes.
1880 Lund took delivery of his first steamship
1890 Lund sold the last of his sailing vessels.
1909 the company's newest ship Waratah disappeared off South Africa. Blue Anchor never recovered from this mishap
1910 Sold its ships to P&O and the company went into voluntary liquidation.
