1914 Obituary [1]

ARTHUR DOXFORD was born at Sunderland on 2nd March 1880.

He received his preliminary education at Trinity College Glenalmond, and in 1899 entered the Durham College of Science' subsequently taking the B.Sc. degree at Armstrong College, Newcastle-on-Tyne.

From 1898 to 1903 he was also serving his apprenticeship in the engine works and drawing office of William Doxford and Sons, Ltd., Sunderland, and after taking the degree of B.Sc. was appointed Manager of the Engine Works of the same firm, of which, in March 1910, he became a director.

His death took place on 5th September 1914, at the age of thirty-four.

He was elected a Member of this Institution in 1909.
