THEODORE WILLIAM DOUBBLE was born at Sevenoaks on 15th September 1874.
Having left school in 1892, he went to [p[John Esson and Co|Messrs. John Esson and Co.]], printers' and general engineers, London, where he served an apprenticeship of six years, after which he was employed for over two years in the drawing office of the Linotype Co., Manchester.
In 1899 he went to the Works of the London and North Western Railway Co., at Stockport, and was engaged on designing instruments and laying out station lighting plans until 1904.
Later he was articled to Messrs. Mewburn, Ellis and Pryor, chartered patent agents, of London, with whom he remained until 1917.
In that year he settled in Dundee and took over the business of the late Mr. G. C. Douglas, which he conducted until his death on 29th August 1922.
He became an Associate Member of this Institution in 1914; he was also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents.
