Major Victor Albert Francis Charles Spencer, 1st Viscount Churchill was often referred to as 'Lord Churchill' particularly between 1886 and 1902.[1]

He was chairman and director of several transport companies during his career including the Great Western Railway,(See The Great Western Railway and Its Personnel for more.) the British India Steam Navigation Co, P&O and the Grand Union Canal.[2]
