1851 Living at Lower Brook Street, Rugeley: James Mellard (age 48 born Uttoxeter), Ironfounder, Ironmonger, Agricultural Instrument Maker employing 35 men, 13 Apprentices and others. With his wife and children including Ralph Mellard (age 21 born Rugeley), Engineer.[1]

1861 Living at Lower Brook Street, Rugeley: James Mellard (age 59 born Uttoxeter), Ironfounder employing 86 men, 26 boys. With his wife Mary and children.[2]
