The death has taken place as the result of an accident of Mr. Daniel Hackett, of Beauty Bank, Old Hill, one of the oldest chain manufacturers in the Black Country.

Mr. Hackett, who was eighty-one years of age, built up one of the most prosperous concerns of its kind in the Old Hill district. He was the first manufacturer to introduce machines for making chain.
