"NORMAN ENDAOOTT was associated with the firm of Messrs. John I. Thomycroft and Company, Ltd., during the whole of his professional career, including his apprenticeship, which he served from 1896 to 1899 at the Company's steam wagon works, at Chiswick.
After completing his general education at Ashburton Grammar School, he obtained his technical training in electrical engineering at Finsbury Technical College, where he gained the College Diploma, and, later, as senior student, became private assistant to Professor J. Perry. He joined Messrs. Thornycroft's motor works at Basingstoke in 1899 as foreman in the fitting and erecting shop, and two years later was made assistant works manager. He was promoted to the post of works manager in 1913. Mr. Endacott had been a Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers since 1914. His death occurred on 3rd August 1949."
