1884 Patent. Manufacture of cased, covered or coated tubes.[1]

1885 Patent. Construction of rims or tyres of wheels for bicycles, tricycles and other vehicles.[2]

1901 Living at 187 Monument Road, Edgbaston: James Hudson (age 41 born Birmingham), Retired Tune maker. With his wife Jane Hudson (age 42 born Birmingham) and their four children; Florence Hudson (age 15 born Birmingham); Gertrude Hudson (age 13 born Birmingham); William Hudson (age 9 born Birmingham); and Alfred Hudson (age 7 born Birmingham). One servant.[3]
