This was probably a length of rail ('nail plate') from an early tramway

The viaduct, at Lydbrook, Forest of Dean, Glos., came into use in 1874, and was demolished in 1965.

Clearly there are limits to the appeal of a demolished viaduct, but it is an interesting area to explore in the search for remains. For more information, see Lydbrook Iron Works.
