David James New of D. New and Co

1838 Concerning a lease and mentions Peter Scattergood, of Stapleford, in the county of Nottingham, Machine-Maker, and David New, of Nottingham, Iron-Merchant. [1]

1846 Concerning an indenture and mentions John Redgate, Ironfounder, David New, Iron Merchant, and Benjamin Walker, Iron Merchant, all of Nottingham.[2]

1869 Partnership dissolved. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, David New, Alfred James New, and John Wesley Lewis, at the town of Nottingham, as Iron Merchants, Furnishing Ironmongers and Brass Founders, under the firm of D. New, Son, and Lewis, has been this day dissolved, the businesses will be carried on in future by the said Alfred James New alone...'[3]

1871 Living at Waverley Street, Nottingham: David New (age 65 born Hallow, Yorkshire), Iron Merchant. With his wife Matha New (age 55 born Leicester) and their children Charlotte New (age 23 born Beeston) and Alice New (age 20 born Beeston). Three servants.[4]

1878 September 28th. Died

1878 Concerns his estate. '...claims or demands upon the estate of David New, late of Waverley House, Waverley-street, in the town of Nottingham, and of the Grange, Nether Broughton, in the county of Leicester, Esq., deceased (who died on the 28th day of September, 1878,...'[5]
