HENRY HERBERT REYNOLDS went to India on Messrs. Crompton's staff about the year 1895, where he was engaged in a technical capacity supervising the installation of the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation's first generating station at Prinsep Street and the mains in connection therewith.
He later joined Messrs. Kilburn and Co. about the year 1902. They were then the managing agents of the Corporation, in whose development he assisted.
About 1906 he left Messrs. Kilburn and Co. to set up a practice as a consulting engineer.
He then became associated with Messrs. Andrew Yule and Co., and was responsible for Dishergarh and Associated Power Supply Co.'s power stations and systems in the Dishergarh and Raneegunge coalfields, in which connection he was a pioneer in India of the "split-phase" method of protection used on the above systems.
He retired in March, 1933.
He joined The Institution as an Associate in 1894 and was elected a Member in 1901. He was a keen horseman and a member of many Calcutta clubs. He leaves a widow, and a son who is serving in the R.A.F.
