This was a family-run firm which expanded greatly under the 6th generation chairman, Francis Gibbons.

Post WWII: The firm was incorporated
1946 Francis Gibbons retired.
1958 Company made public.
1961 Manufacturers of metal windows in bronze, aluminium and steel, and Windowall a special design of aluminium curtain walling. Also manufacture locks and builders' hardware, art metal work, cloakroom fittings, metal furniture, hospital and mortuary equipment. 900 employees.
1978 TI James Gibbons sold its key and lock making activities to Evered Security Products[9]
