Muir and Mavor

1881/3 Muir and Mavor was established by Henry Alexander Mavor and William C. Muir.

1885 This firm carried out much of the pioneer electric lighting work in Scotland, including lighting of the Glasgow General Post Office. This installation was subsequently extended to various municipal buildings, shops, and offices.[1]

By 1889 had become Muir, Mavor and Coulson in order to carry out the contract to supply the municipal buildings[2]

Later the company became Mavor and Coulson
