Micanite and Insulators Co of Empire Works, Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow, London.
1901 Founded as the Mica Insulator Co. by twin brothers Arthur Berkeley and Edward Berkeley.
1906 Name changed to the Micanite and Insulators Co.
1937 Electrical insulation engineers. "Panilax" Insulating Material. "Paxbestos" and "Paxolin" Insulating Material.[1]
1956 Associated Insulation Products held a majority stake in the company; minority stakes were held by AEI and English Electric Co[2]
1961 Electrical insulation engineers and manufacturers, producing mica, micanite, silicone insulation, empire varnished insulation, high voltage bushings and insulators. 1,600 employees.[3]
1967 Production moved to Trafford Park, Manchester.
