Sir Reginald Claude Rootes (1896-1977), was the founder with his brother William Rootes of the Rootes Group

1896 Born on the 20th October at Goudhurst, Kent the son of William Rootes, cycle and motor engineer.[1]

1946 Reginald Rootes was knighted for his work setting up shadow factories.

1946 He was the President of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

1977 Died aged 81 years.[1]
