1996 ABB Transportation was merged with the railway arm of Daimler-Benz to form ADtranz (ABB-Daimler Benz Transportation); works included Derby, Crewe and Chart Leacon near Ashford [1]

1999 DaimlerChrysler bought ABB's share of the business[2]

2001 ADtranz was taken over by the Canadian engineering company Bombardier
