1921 Began production of Marles steering gear for the Marles Steering Co Ltd, which never engaged in manufacturing
1924 Acquired exclusive rights to the Marles gear for the UK under licence

1951 Formation of public company Adamant Engineering Co (Luton) Ltd to take over the private Adamant Engineering Co[3][4]
1955 Merger with Western Manufacturing of Reading to form Adamant and Western Engineering[5].
1961 Agreement with Bendix Corporation of USA for manufacture and sale of Bendix manual and power assisted steering[6].
