1924 A&AE Establishment formed at Martlesham Heath, Suffolk; Harold Blackburn was base commander

1939 Moved to Boscombe Down

1950 Absorbed the Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment

1956 Marine Aircraft Experimental Establishment merged with A&AEE
