ALEXANDER GALL was born and educated at Aberdeen, and apprenticed with Messrs. Alexander Mather and Son, Edinburgh.
Early in his career he went to America as engineer in charge of a refrigerating factory for the Las Palmas Produce Company. After some years with Messrs. R. P. Houston and Company and Messrs. H. and W. Nelson, he became associated at Cardiff with the late Mr. George Walker, of London, consulting engineer and naval architect.
He then entered into partnership with Mr. P. T. Houston, of London, as consulting engineers, surveyors, and refrigerating experts.
Later he joined the Salvage Association, for whom he carried out as surveyor many salvage operations in the Bristol Channel.
He became a Member of the Institution in 1906, and died at the age of 67, on 16th October 1929.
