1851 Living at 171 Strand, London: Jonathan Clarkson (age 38 born Wensleydale), Grocer. With his wife Mary A. Clarkson (age 40 born Chelsea) and their children Elizabeth Clarkson (age 15 born Marylebone) and their children Emily A. Clarkson (age 8 born Marylebone); Samuel J. Clarkson (age 6 born Chelsea); Alexander T. Clarkson (age 3 born Chelsea).[1]

1871 A lodger with Robert Stone the Verger at the church, Pancras, London: Alexander Clarkson (age 23 born Pancras), Scientific Instrument Maker.[2]

1881 Living at 58 Avenue Road, Herne Bay: Jonathan Clarkson (age 68 born Yorkshire), Income of House Property. With his son Alexr T. Clarkson (age 33 born Chelsea), Optical merchant and Manufacturer employing 6 men and 1 boy; and daughter Emily A. Clarkson (age 35 born London). One servant.[3]

1891 Living at 15 Medford Place, Brighton: Alexander Clarkson (age 43 born Chelsea), (?). With his wife Lizzie Clarkson (age 34 born Belgravia) and their daughter Ethel Clarkson (age 12 born Holloway). One servant (teacher).[4]

1901 Living at 28 West Side, Wandsworth: Alexander Clarkson (age 53 born Chelsea), Telescope Maker and Employer. With his wife Elizabeth Clarkson (age 50 born Chelsea) and their daughter Ethel Clarkson (age 22 born Islington). One servants.[5]

1911 Living at 28 West Side, Wandsworth Common: Alexander Clarkson (age 63 born Chelsea), Optical Instrument Dealer and Telescope Maker. With his wife Elizabeth Clarkson (age 60 born Chelsea).[6]

1918 October. Buried in Wandsworth Cemetery. Also in grave is Elizabeth Mary Clarkson ( -1925)
