Alexandra (Newport and South Wales) Docks and Railway Company, of 14 St. Mary Axe, London
This 10.5 mile line was originally incorporated in 1865 as the Alexandra (Newport) Docks Co. [1]
1875 Advert: opened the Alexandra Docks, Newport. Also owner of Newport Old Docks, the Alexandra Graving Dock, and the Blaina Wharf.
1878 The company launched the Pontypridd, Caerphilly and Newport Railway.
1882 The company name was changed by an Act of Parliament. [2]
1923 Became part of the Great Western Railway. [3]
