1911 Living at 3 High Street, Tonbridge, Kent: Alfred Cornell (age 58 born Maidstone, Kent), Watchmaker and Jeweller Retail - Employer. With his wife Susan Hannah Cornell (age 55 born Maidstone, Kent). Married 34 years with three children of whom two are living.[2]

The funeral took place at Gravesend on Saturday of a former well-known Tonbridge tradesman, pioneer motorist and inventor, in the person of Mr. Alfred Cornell, who until 12 years ago carried on business as a jeweller and watchmaker at 3, High-street.
Mr. Cornell was 89 years of age. and he leaves a son and daughter, his wife having predeceased him two years ago.
Mr Cornell’s activities as a pioneer motorist were well known, and was once lined for driving a car without being preceded by a man with a red flag. He was one time member of the Medway Lodge of Freemasons. No. 1678. and of the Constitutional Club.
