1861 Born at Derby the son of Draper Ottewell, a Brass Founder, and his wife Mary. Brother of Albert Ottewell

1871 Living at 21 Siddall Road, Derby: Draper Ottewell (age 40 born Marleyshire, Derby), Brass Founder Foreman. With his wife Mary Ottewell (age 37 born Mddx.) and their children Alfred D. Ottewell (age 15 born Derby), a Draughtsman; Henry Ottewell (age 12 born Derby); Albert Ottewell (age 9 born Derby); and Ada Mary Ottewell (age 5 born Derby). One boarder and one servant[1]
