c1824 Born at Birmingham the son of Richard Hollis
1851 Living at 3 Little Atherton Street, Deansgate, Manchester: Alfred Hollis (age 27 born Birmingham), an Architect. With his wife Anne Twelves Hollis (age 28 born East Retford, Notts). One servant.[1]
1856 Advertisement. For a forgeman accustomed to engineering and shipbuilders' uses. Apply Alfred Hollis, Darlington.[2]
1858 Patent. '195. To Alfred Hollis and Stephen Lee, both of Darlington, in the county of Durham, Engineers, for the invention of "improvements in the construction of chaldron-wagon and other railway wheels."'[3]
1858 Executor of an estate.
