Ambrose Grattan Power (1887-1926), early aviator

1887 April 22nd. Born in Arrah, India (British subject), the son of Ambrose William Bushe Power, of the Bengal Civil Service, and his wife Frances Maria Bushe.

1901 Boarder at school in Malvern.[1]

1907 Inherits estate on death of his father (of Glencairn Abbey, Lismore, Co. Waterford).[2]

1908 Married at Dublin to Ada Mary Cooper-Chadwick. Had son Anthony Ambrose Grattan Power.

1911 Visitor at Hotel York (Berners Hotel), London: Ambrose Grattan Power (age 23 born Arrah, India). Lieut 3rd Royal Munster Fusiliers.[3]

1911 Takes legal action against Lascelles and Co over the non-performance of a plane he had ordered.[4]

1913 June 02nd. Pilots licence No 498 obtained with a Grahame-White Biplane, and the Grahame-White School, Hendon).

1926 December 07th. Died at Raboul, Papua, New Guinea
