Educated at Worthing and Ealing.

1896 Apprenticed with Edison and Swan at Ponders End

1898 Continued his apprenticeship with Messrs Spagnoletti at Shepherds Bush

1901 Served in South African War

1902 Trained at Finsbury Technical College

1903 Married Kathleen Booth in Hampstead[4]

1905 Started work at Crompton and Co at Chelmsford on electrical instrument design, and then lecturer at the works

1906 Associate of I Mech E

1908 Gained BSc (Engineering) London

1908 Associate of the Inst of Electrical Engineers

1909 Associate of the Inst of Civil Engineers; living in Chelmsford

WWI Wireless Officer, R.N.V.R. and R.F.C.

1916 Moved to Caversham, Reading[5]

1917 Head of Section in Technical Department., Air Ministry. Achieved rank of Major

Post WWI rejoined Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co.

1921 During the commuting journey to London, MacCullum met Byron G. Clark (who was living in Theale, near Reading, during the summer) and Mr Watsham (who owned an electrical contracting business in Covent Garden, London). This led to the Plessey Co gaining an order for some early crystal sets.

1922 Superintending Engineer, Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co., Ltd.
