1864 An article in The Engineer of 26 August 1864 describes a lathe for high rates of production of small components invented by Ardrey, Beckett & Smith

1867 Partnership dissolved between Samuel Bradley Ardrey, Samuel Beckett, and Walton Smith, spindle and machine makers[1].
