Mid 19th century: The hotel was built on a central seafront site, looking on to the pier, during Dunoon's Victorian heyday as a resort

1876 A tower was added to the hotel

1936 A company was incorporated, Argyll Hotel (Dunoon) Limited

1969 The company went into voluntary liquidation

2020 The hotel by now served as the headquarters of the five hotel portfolio of the SGE Hotel Group
