1853 This girder bridge of 180 foot span was erected in 1853 from designs by John Lister. It was built by Bank Quay Foundry Co to carry the Warrington and Stockport Railway line across the Mersey. [1]. The W&SR was later absorbed by the London North-Western Railway.

At a later date (c.1910) it was widened and strengthened.
