Dry Docks Ltd., Hull; b. 1878; s. of Alexander Meek, Shipowner and Manager of Yorks Coal and Steamship Co., Ltd. Ed. Craigmount School, Edinburgh. Training: Earle's Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Ltd., and Technical College, Hull. Career: Manager of Boiler Works in Hull, and was at sea as Chief Engr.; carried out Salvage Operations during the War and a great deal of work for Ministry of Shipping; has designed and superintended the building of a number of Steam Craft.
