1958 The name of the holding company of British Chrome and Chemicals was changed to Associated Chemical Companies[2]

1959 New sulphuric acid plant constructed at Eaglescliffe by Power-Gas Corporation[3]

1961 Acquired Farmers Co, an old established unquoted company which produced chemical fertilisers and feeds[4]

1964 Acquired Mays' Chemical Manure, a private company[5]. Decisions to close the Rutherglen and Bolton plants with transfer to work to Eaglescliffe[6]. New sulphur dioxide plant to be built at Bromborough[7]

1965 Take-over by Albright and Wilson[8]
