ASTON MARTIN D.B.2 SALOON
The name of Aston Martin is associated with a long series of successes in high speed events over the Le Mans, Spa and Ulster circuits during the past thirty years.
The new Aston Martin D.B.2 saloon — claimed to be a real Road Express — cruises easily at 90 m.p.h. and has power in hand at the 100 mark. It is listed as a three-seater, as the front seats can he adjusted to accommodate this number, but a fourth passenger can be carried in the occasional rear seat.
The car is immaculately finished and it is obvious that the experience accumulated over the years has been utilised in planning its construction. For instance, the front wings and bonnet are fabricated in one piece and are hinged at the front, to give access to the engine, front suspension, battery and tool kit. The forward siting of the hinge may seem of minor importance, until one considers what would happen if the cowling became unfastened by accident at high speed.
