Dr. Augustus Voelcker, F.R.S. was born in Germany, he came to Scotland in 1849. He was a Consulting Chemist to the Royal Agricultural Society of England. He died at the age of 62, read the full obituary on page 451 of The Engineer 1884/12/12.[1]
