1973 Bio Note [1]

B. J. Brinkworth MSc(Eng), PhD, AFRAeS, MInstP, Member, was educated at Marling School and Bristol University, where he read Mechanical Engineering. After practical training with the MoS and a short period in industry, he worked for seven years on defence research projects at RAE Farnborough.

In 1960 he joined the academic staff at University College, Cardiff, where he is now Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. His research work has been mainly in optics and fluid mechanics and he has published numerous papers and a widely-used textbook: An Introduction to Experimentation (EUP, 1968). He has been a member of several national research committees and a consultant to Government departments.
