1880 Born at Camberwell the son of Thomas Arthur Middleton

1881 Living at 93 the Grove, Camberwell: Thomas Arthur Middleton (age 30 born Southwark), Mechanical Engineer employing 200 men. With his wife Isabella and three sons; Thomas P. Middleton (age 3 born Camberwell); Hugh K. Middleton (age 1 born Camberwell); and Brian McL. Middleton (1 month born Camberwell).[1]

1922 A.M.I.Mech.E., M.I.E. (India), Mechanical and Hydraulic Engineer, c/o The Bombay Co., Ltd., Madras, Southern India; b. 1880. Ed. St. Peter's, Pocklington, and King's College, London. Apprenticeship for five years served with T. Middleton and Co. of Southwark, followed by two years' active service with the Royal Engineers in the South African War, thereafter returned to the Southwark Works as Assistant Manager, subsequently leaving for India, since when has acted as Engineer and for ten years as Chief Engineer, and is still acting for the Company in the capacity of Consulting Engineer. Chief Works: Erection of linoleum, printing, cranes, brick and other industrial machinery in England, and erecting in India many factories for ginning and pressing cotton, bungalows, etc.; many patents. Member of Madras Club, etc. War Services.—South Africa, two years, Royal Engineers.
