1873 Company incorporated.

1908 The line (25½ miles in length) was worked by the Great Western Railway [1]. It connected with the Ffestiniog Railway at Blaenau Ffestiniog, connecting to Porthmadog. At Bala Junction, the line connected with the Ruabon to Barmouth GWR line.
