1967 Bell's Asbestos and Engineering (Holdings) changed its name to Bestobell[1]

1970 Sold Bekon-Bell to Steel Radiators Ltd, including Belkon Domestic Products which it controlled[2]

The company had interests in defence, aviation, distribution and instrumentation.

1970 Acquired General Connectors Corporation of Burbank, the company's first US purchase[3]

1979 BTR failed in a bid to acquire the company but kept the 24 percent of the shares that it had acquired

1980 Bestobell was operating in controls, energy, aviation, and consumer products areas.[4]

1982 Acquired Armtec Industries of Manchester, New Hampshire, USA, maker of electronic components for aerospace and other industrial markets[5]

1986 Acquired the level controls division of Fisher Controls of Solingen, Germany[6]

1986 Meggitt acquired the company with support from BTR[7]

1990 Bestobell Distribution was acquired by Freeman Group[8]
