Blair Atholl Aeroplane Syndicate was a syndicate formed to support John William Dunne's activities in making aeroplanes, especially Dunne's tailless designs
John William Dunne's first glider had been demonstrated at Blair Atholl (presumably the source of the name of the syndicate). The Duke of Atholl was chairman of the Syndicate[1]
1911 Charles Richard Fairey became General manager of the syndicate at Eastchurch, Isle of Sheppey.
1911 Built the D.5 biplane, which appeared to be faster than any other aircraft at Sheerness at that time, and later the D.8 .
1913 The War Office ordered 2 aircraft from the Syndicate and a further aircraft with a Nieuport engine was supplied to France[2]
