Louis Bleriot developed what would become the first practical automobile headlamp. His business, supplying acetylene lamps initially to 2 French car makers, made him rich, so that he could experiment with building and flying aircraft.

Up to c.1907 Weldhen and Bleriot sold lamps for cars made to Bleriot's design

By 1909 Bleriot Ltd had been formed at the same address; also advertised monoplanes.
