Established by Jacob Mayer.

1847. Mr. E. Kuehe joined.

1854. Became a Limited Company.

1863 Up until now, the Works mainly made crucible steel, but after this date adopted the Bessemer and the Siemens- Martin processes.

1875 Mr. Mayer died. Mr. Helmholtz became technical manager. [1]
